Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery, France – III

Here are the last seven photos to complete the 21-photo set of Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery.

The Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery which was established in October 1918 hosts nine Medal of Honor recipients. Every story behind each medal is special and impressive. Some of my American friends know Lt. Frank Luke because of Luke AFB. Or the stories of Sgt. Matej Kocak, who earned the Army and Navy Medal of Honor, and Cpl. Freddie Stowers, whose recommendation was never processed until 1991.

I hope I return to this site as there is more to see. Just a few miles south of the cemetery is the Montfaucon Monument and a bit further to the South-West lays Verdun, home of one of the bloodiest battles in WW1.
